The 4 Agentic AI Superpowers for HR

One question I get a lot from HR professions is: what in the hell is Agentic AI? Fair enough, I had the same question until I spent some time with experts on my podcast who helped me understand it more.

Agentic AI refers to the use of AI agents. AI agents are systems designed to autonomously perform tasks or respond to user input. They typically include the following elements:

  1. Perception: The ability to interpret user input or environment data.

  2. Reasoning: Using AI models to process information and make decisions.

  3. Action: Generating responses or taking actions based on their reasoning.

  4. Adaptation: The ability to learn and improve over time.

Most may think custom GPTs are agents, which they are but in a limited capacity. Think of your own person assistant who can function like you, or in my case much more efficiently. Many of the professionals in the space feel the world of work will become more agentic and less labor driven.

Honestly, there's a lot of power in agentic AI and HR is one of the departments who stands to gain the most from it. I discovered four superpowers we can harness if we go all in on agentic AI. I spent some time unpacking this topic on a recent YouTube video, check out the full video here: https://youtu.be/5X-WLTPYffc.

If you would prefer to find out more about the topic before commiting to the video, here's a rundown of what I cover.

The Benefits of Agentic AI in HR

Agentic AI can be used in HR to automate tasks, improve decision-making, and enhance the employee experience. For example, AI agents can be used to screen job candidates, schedule interviews, and provide onboarding support. They can also be used to develop training programs, track employee performance, and provide feedback.

The Four Superpowers of Agentic AI

In this video, I share four superpowers that HR professionals can gain by leveraging agentic AI:

  1. The Power to Build: AI agents can be used to build HR solutions without the need for coding skills. (And yes, that means you won't have to wait forever for IT to get around to your requests for new enhancements.)

  2. The Power to Automate: AI agents can automate repetitive HR tasks and processes.

  3. The Power to Create: AI agents can be used to create content for HR needs, such as job descriptions, training materials, and employee communications. It can even become your creative department to help you level up your employee experience with new creative content that you can do without waiting for a creative professional.

  4. The Power to Connect: By freeing up time for HR professionals, AI agents can allow them to focus on building relationships with employees and creating a more human-centric workplace.

What are you waiting for?

Agentic AI is a powerful tool that can help HR professionals transform the way they work. By embracing AI, HR can become more efficient, effective, and human-centered.
