I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Ben Eubanks, Chief Research Officer at Lighthouse Research and Advisory, for my podcast, The Human Capitalist. Ben is a true data nerd and HR expert, and I always enjoy our conversations about the future of work.
In this episode, we talked about how AI is transforming the HR landscape. Ben shared some fascinating insights from his latest research, including some really cool examples of how AI is being used to solve real-world HR challenges.

One of the things that I found most interesting was Ben's prediction that AI will move beyond the "flashy" applications and start to tackle some of the more fundamental challenges that HR faces. For example, he talked about AI-powered compliance tools that can automatically review contracts and freelance agreements to ensure proper classification of workers. This is the kind of thing that can really free up HR professionals to focus on more strategic work.
Ben also talked about how AI can be used to create more engaging experiences for employees. Imagine being able to design personalized onboarding experiences or create custom learning programs that are tailored to each individual's needs. This is the kind of thing that AI can make possible.
Of course, no conversation about AI in HR would be complete without talking about data. Ben emphasized the importance of data in HR, and he encouraged HR leaders to go beyond the surface-level numbers and really dig into their data to uncover hidden insights.
I also asked Ben to share some of the most challenging issues facing HR today. He highlighted onboarding and skills validation as two key areas where HR needs to focus. He also talked about the importance of understanding the needs of different employee groups and creating a culture of continuous learning.
In addition to our main discussion, we also did a rapid-fire segment where Ben shared some of his favorite books, podcasts, and other resources. He also gave some great advice for HR professionals who are looking to remain relevant in the changing world of work.
I always come away from my conversations with Ben feeling inspired and energized about the future of HR. I think we're on the cusp of a golden age of HR, where we can use data and AI to create a more human-centric workplace.
Key Takeaways
